Chapter-14

We’re on the motorway heading north when the nerves crash back in like a tidal wave. I’m still floating from the perfect day—sand between my toes, his hand in mine, the sea roaring behind us—but now the reality of tonight is clawing its way up my throat. I shift in the passenger seat, restless, unable to settle.

Ant notices immediately. He turns the radio down low.
